Visitor InformationAre you planning a trip to the museum at g.g.h... we’d be delighted to meet you. Here’s some helpful information you’ll need to know… Gunsgreen House is full of fun and adventures for children. We are a ‘hands on’ attraction where children are welcome to explore and touch as they go. Complete the smuggling trail, find those pesky hidden rats and dress up as a smuggler as you discover clues and secrets on your way around the house. Children will love exploring the creepy cellars and crawling through the secret tunnel. From the parents point of view, there is lots for children to do and look at- meaning you will have time to read things of interest yourself as they complete their challenges. We have toilet facilities on site, baby changing and lift access for push-chairs and wheelchairs and parking is free. For closures, please see footer. * FREE PARKING * UNDER 5'S GO FREE *Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult *
Find Us
Gunsgreen House is located in Eyemouth, a fishing town located on the far South-East coast of Scotland. We are 49 miles south of Edinburgh, and 9 miles north of Berwick upon Tweed in England.
If you are using a SatNav to find us, please enter this postcode: TD14 5DZ If you’re coming by car, Gunsgreen House has a car park a few metres from the house, which is free of charge. Driving into Eyemouth, pass the High School on your right, taking a left towards the town. Then take a right turn onto ‘The Avenue’ when you see the signs for the house. Continue straight along this road until you see the house, then take a left down onto the car park. By foot, Gunsgreen House is easily accessible from Eyemouth town centre, simply walk along the ‘Middle Pier’ and over the little red bridge and you will be at the house. There are signs around town to make this easier for you. |
We visited this museum on a rainy day with 3 children ages 6 to 8 and 5 adults ranging from 38-72. We all loved it! The staff and exhibits are so engaging for young children as they have really gone out of their way to accommodate them. The exhibits and house are also very well done and interesting for adults. There is a real sense of caring about the visitor experience in this museum and it made for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!! |
