Come and Visit Gunsgreen House.

Educational Tours

During a school trip to Gunsgreen House, Children also have the opportunity to complete our smuggling and rat trails as they go round, and will get a special smugglers pass to take home.
Gunsgreen House is a hands-on learning experience that pupils and groups will be talking about for months to come. Most often they return with parents in tow!
Here at Gunsgreen House we specialise in trips for primary schools, where children can discover the secrets of the house and learn all about smuggling at Gunsgreen and in Eyemouth.

We use the book ‘Secrets of the Smugglers House’ which was written by one of our  Founding Trustees Fay Waddell to introduce the topic of smuggling to the children, and then lead them around the house to discover the secrets in the story (all of which are real!).
Visits usually last around 2 hours, however we can extend your trip to include craft sessions and other games.

If you are coming from afar and wish to make a day of it, We can also arrange for your class to visit other places in Eyemouth.

Just let us know what topic you are studying and what you have in mind.

Children will  remember their school trip to Gunsgreen House for years to come!
